INCOME DIFFERENTIAL AND SEXUAL ORIENTATION IN NORTHEAST REGION
Keywords:

This article has the purpose of verifying if there are differentiated gains among the workers of the Northeast Region, given their sexual orientation. To answer this question were used the data of CENSO 2010, which classifies individuals by sexual orientation. From the estimations of the wage regressions it was possible to verify that both gays and lesbians have higher incomes than heterosexuals. By analyzing the Oaxaca-Blinder decomposition (1973) it was possible to show that most of this difference is explained by the observed attributes of homosexuals, among them, schooling and there is no presence of discriminatory components.
