The aim of the paper is to identify the characteristics and the spatial distribution of knowledge intensive business services (KIBS) in São Paulo, Brazil, between 2010 and 2019. We intend to demonstrate the spatial bias of these activities towards metropolitan areas due to advantagens related to agglomeration economies. The paper gathers data from labour market, provided by the Ministry of Labour, and apply multivariate statistical techniques (principal component analysis and clustering ordination) to verify the KIBS’ spatial dispersion degree. The analysis highlights the importance of T-KIBS to the process of innovation and shows a spatial concentration of these services in São Paulo Metropolitan area and its vicinity, maily related to the local wide supply of human capital.
