Evolution in productive agglomerations of food and beverage industries in South region

Several changes occurred in the food and beverage sector on the decade 1990, have an impact on their agglomerations. Thus, the objective of the present study is identifying the evolution of productive agglomerations in the food and beverage industry on South Region, during 1999, 2005, 2010 and 2015. For this purpose, the Principal Components Analysis was used to construct the normalized concentration index and the Exploratory Analysis of Spatial Data for clusters visualization. During the period of analysis, Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina presented a loss of agglomerations in the sector, while Paraná showed rise and overflow of agglomerations.
