In this article, we evaluate the effects that the University of Brasília (UnB) has on the economy of the Federal District (DF), based on the impacts calculated using an interregional input-output model. When we consider the added value, Unb is responsible for approximately 2.5 billion reals, equivalent to 1% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the Federal District. In addition, UnB generates about 45 thousand jobs in the DF, and is also responsible for collecting 277 million reals in taxes. These indicators were presented in terms of direct impacts added to indirect and induced.
